Bread & Jams, Inc is a not-for-profit, member-led organization of mostly homeless and formerly homeless persons that:
- provides dignified assistance and opportunities for self-help and peer support to persons who are or have been homeless, or are on the verge of being homeless,
Bread & Jams operates with the assistance of several religious organizations. Facilities are located and dinners are served at several local Christian churches. Donated clothing is supplied by Quaker charities.

- works to empower persons who are or have been homeless, or are on the verge of being homeless, to exercise greater control over their lives and their circumstances, and
- invites our consumers, volunteers, and employees to work together as equals in the process of governing the organization.
Our staff is almost entirely composed of volunteers. These driven and well-appreciated men and women are volunteers with Bread & Jams, Inc. in many different ways.
- Self-Advocacy Center - work with the clients and/or the Coordinator to help us run more effectively
- Sunday Meal - preparing and serving food for our year-round Sunday meal
- Technology Center - help clients learn today's application software as well as helping them to gain a better understanding of computer hardware
- Committee Participation - Website Development - Data Entry - Grant Writing
